So far, so good. I have painted a lot in the past few days and tried to reply to all my comments.

In October I will have been a DeviantArt member for eight years. I have been a premium member for much of that time, but it is one of the things I had to give up now that I no longer receive a student loan and am unemployed.

Therefore; would anyone like to trade a portrait commission with a one-year subscription?

Please? :D

I can paint people or animals, original characters, friends, family, you or your idol. We are talking about this level of detail.

If anyone wants a bigger project such as and, contact me. I am just testing the grounds for commissions. Note me if you have any questions!

Edit: I have an offer! :D I am only taking one commission at this time, but I might do more later.

Hello again,

I am tentatively starting to paint again after not finishing anything at all for two years. At the moment I am taking a year off my studies and unemployed so I have some time on my hands. Sorry for just disappearing. I have read every comment and looked at every deviation from the people I watch, I just couldn't bring myself to post anything. Thank you for all the kind words, and for not forgetting me. :)
I am sorry for being away so long. I have been lurking the whole time, I just haven't really had anything to show. But I will come back! For now, here is a preview of one of the paintings I hope to finish soon (after the exams..)

Daily Deviation 8D

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 22, 2008, 3:29 AM

I went out for a coffee with a friend yesterday, which suddenly turned into a beer, which ended up becoming quite a few beers. I never made it home and had to go straight to my French lesson today without any sleep. Ten minutes ago I came home, feeling pretty tired and depressed about the fact that I only had time for an hour of sleep before going work. As always I just had to quickly stop by DA before sleeping, when my heart skipped five beats. Daily Deviation!! I read them every day, and I found some of my favourite artists through it, and I can't believe I was actually awarded one for the first tutorial I ever made.. :D
I will reply to every single comment even if it is the last thing I do.

Prints & Commissions

I have decided that I don't like working, so I am now taking commissions for the sake of eating. Prices vary a lot according to what it is you want (and how much time I will need to spend on it), but a pretty detailed waist up portrait (which would probably take me 12-20 hours) is about $100 dollars. Note me or send me an e-mail with some details, and I will let you know if I accept it and how much it would be. :)

Aaand I'm back

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 8, 2008, 3:22 PM

I just got back after two great months of travelling in Latin America. I have experienced a lot, seen amazing places and met some cool people, but it is good to be back again as well. I really missed painting (Even if I tried to sketch a lot on the road), so I look forward to becoming more active than ever now! :)

I am starting university next week, Social Anthropology (not entirely sure about what it is yet, but I hope it will be interesting..). I've just travelled, worked and done random courses for the past three years, so I am really looking forward to going back to school!

Prints & Commissions

I have bought a print account and put a few of my paintings up for sale. No idea if people actually want to buy them, but I thought it was worth a try!

A lot of people have asked me about commissions recently, and I am pretty desperate for money now, so I want to start taking some once I settle in at university. But I have absolutely no idea about what to charge! Please take a few seconds to answer my poll. :)

I started my summer in Cuba, with a few days in the countryside smoking cigars and hanging out in the rocking chairs on the porch of the family we stayed with. Cuba was unlike any country I`ve ever been to.. It was low season so we hardly met any other tourists, and very few of the locals spoke English so we had get by on the few Spanish phrases we knew and body language.

Now I`m in Jaco on the west coast of Costa Rica, but I`m leaving in an hour for the National Parks around Santa Elena to see monkeys and sloths, and drink what is supposed to be the world`s absolute best coffee. :)

We still have 6 weeks left and in that time we are supposed to make our way through Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. So please let me know if you have any good tips on what to do and see. :)

So yeah, needless to say, I haven't had a lot of time for internet, and chances are that this will stay the same all summer. But I really appreciate the comments and favorites and I will try to answer to them as soon as I can!

I was featured in a cool news article on hyperrealism and photorealism.…

New year, new subscription, four new paintings so far.. Hopefully an indication as to how active I will be for the rest of the year.

As some of you may know, I lived in Vietnam for five months this year, and my focus was on entirely different things than painting and DA. But now I am back in Norway as a part time student, so I should have more than enough time to paint. At least I do have the motivation now!

Now I just have to figure out how to use the fancy new subscriber functions. :D

Thank you so much to *kuschelirmel-stock for publishing css codes and tutorials, several of which I pieced together to fix up my journal.

As much as I wish I was a great and professional photographer, I am painfully aware that I am not. I might do it anyway though, just because I visited so many cool places.

Pff... But I have my final in Examen Philosophicum in two days, and I haven't even read a third of what I shoud have. So the next couple of days will be busy.. But if I do ok, I am planning to reward myself by buying a three months subscription. :D
I haven't visited this place in way too long..
I'll try to become more active.

Gaia Auction

Edana's Journal

I'm back from Tunisia, and have started working again >_< I really have begun missing school... The only good thing about this job (apart from the much needed money) is that it's a major kick in the butt to make me want higher education. There's no way I'm going to be doing this in ten years!

While I'm waiting to go on my Asia trip, I'm finding ways to spoil my time at the internet. And my newest fascination is my joint art auction on Gaia. Take a look please..? Any bumps would be very much appreciated.. And needed! It's moving a bit slowly so far.. My Gaian name is Orielle, btw..

I'm going to England tomorrow! I'm going to meet the guy I'll be travelling with next year for the first time, and we will plan the next year.. And he promised to take me to a Chinese restaurant in Soho, as that is the closest we can get to Asia yet...

I'm nervous.

But also excited! I think this is the first time in my life I've done something only for -me- because it is something -I- really want to do..

I've finally moved out of my appartment. I worked from 8-3 and cleaned out of the appartment from after work to midnight almost every day last week, so I'm glad it's over. And 4 days off work now probably won't kill me..

Yeah, I don't really know if anyone actually reads these rambling journals, but it helps to get stuff off your chest and onto the screen.

And I am actually happy today :)
I have finished high school!!!
I got through all my exams, and the graduation ceremony is at the end of the month, and I NEVER EVER HAVE TO GO BACK TO THAT PLACE...
It's almost funny when you think about it. I spent three years living in another city, going to that school and meeting new people, and I didn't really get that much out of it.. I guess the best part was moving out on my own when I was 15, oh the freedom. On the other hand, that freedom pretty much messed up my schoolwork. But nevertheless, it's over now.

So... What do I do now?

Actually, I'll begin my new job tomorrow so I didn't get that much free time after finishing. I'll be working at a hotel cleaning up after the guests.. Boring job, but it pays. And considering that there are about 45,000 summer guests here every year (the population is only 5000), I should have enough to do.. Because I need to save up money so that I can travel around the wooorld... Or at least parts of it, more exactly Russia and East Asia. Can't wait.. So if anyone have any ideas about must-see things in Russia, Japan, South Korea, China (only east coast though), Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, please PLEASE write them here  or mail me or something, I have 8 months I need to fill up.. I'm so happy now, this is the first time in my life I'm doing something I REALLY want.

I actually met the guy I'm travelling with over the internet :) And I'm going to London to meet him for the first time in twoo weeks. It's not really like me to be this.. bold.. when it comes to people I don't know, but yeah..

My free subscription is over.... :( I didn't really get to enjoy it at all because I got it in the middle of my exams, and I didn't have internet access.. By the time I got home it was dead. I think I might buy my self a three months subscription as a treat because I lived through the exams though...
I have finally uploaded something.. 2 new oekakis and 1 pencil drawing.

School is finished :D I'm free this week, and then there's my final exams 3rd-12th of May (oh, the horror). And after that I am never ever going back to high school :D Well, unless I become a teacher, which I may... Anyway, happy days for me!

When I came to DA yesterday I had 200 something messages, and I didn't have time to comment on all the deviations.. But I saw them, and I felt happy, because all my devwatch people are so good..

I am looking for a summer job. I've applied to about 15 different ones, but if you hear about a job near Nøtterøy, please let me know ;) I need money... Loads of them. Because in a couple of weeks I am going to England to meet this guy I know over the internet, and next year we're going to travel through Russia and East/South-east Asia :D This gap year is going to save my life..

Yes, I suppose that's enough rambling for today.. I have to go and study for my exams..
I just cleaned out my gallery thoroughly, and it needed it..  So -most- of the old things are in my scraps now. I couldn't remove all of it though, because then my gallery would look pretty empty. I guess that means I should update more often..

School is killing me. But fortunately I've only got a couple of months left. And next year I am going backpacking in east Asia for 6 months! So, I guess my life will change quite dramatically.. I can't wait though :D
I've finally turned 18. Today. :)
Even though the only change I've noticed so far, is that my parents don't get money from the state for me anymore. But soon I'll get my driving license (hopefully), so that should be nice. And I can drink and smoke legally now..

I got a digital camera for my birthday, so hopefully I will be able to update that horrible picture on the main page soon.

I haven't been here in a long time now, so sorry about not commenting and everything.. Things have been happening lately.. Well, Christmas break will come soon :) So that's good.
No one claimed the 800th hit though....
